Cooling our Climate with Healthy Water and Soil

Carbon may be driving climate change, but are there other ways to intervene in the climate to reverse global warming?

Find out Tuesday evening, November 3rd  at 6 pm with Walter Jehne and Tom Nicholas of Healthy Soils Australia who will be appearing at the Rockford Chapel on Antioch Campus in Yellow Springs.  Healthy Soils Australia champions practical solutions to regenerate soil health and help address our critical  aridification, water, food and climate change challenge.  Like farmers in the US, they are concerned about climate change impacts on farming and our capacity to supply essential water, food, bio-materials and social stability for the future.  The organization focuses on how regeneration of our soils and landscapes can help mitigate and adapt to the now locked-in dangerous feedbacks and extremes from our past land degradation and carbon emissions.

Walter Jehne is a soil biologist and climate scientist while Tom ran an extensive grains/cattle property of some 100,000 acres in Central Queensland prior to focusing on his current Healthy Soils advocacy work. Together they have a very wide network of farmer contacts and experience all over Australia. They'll be discussing their work and are interested in talking to local farmers and gardeners looking to discuss key issues facing local farmers. Then together we’ll explore how nature and innovative leaders here and overseas turn problems to benefits.

Please join us at Rockford Chapel at 6 pm for a potluck, with a talk to follow at 7 pm.
